Tracks All Document Activity & History

Document Audit Log

While managing hard copies it is important to figure out what type of changes have been implemented on a document, who made the modification and on what date. However, with traditional document management method it is not possible to track all the modifications that has been implemented on the document throughout its lifecycle.

But what if you want to know when was that document generated, or who made a particular modification, or which stage of its lifecycle is the document going through at that point of time. If documents are stored in hard disk, it is impossible to track such trail or keep a log on those documents in a systematic way.

Document audit trail is the security-relevant chronological record, set of records, and/or destination and source of records that provide documentary evidence of the sequence of activities that have affected at any time a specific operation, procedure, or event.

The history of each and every document residing in the i-doc repository is tracked right from the time it is uploaded and published until destruction.

Importance of Audit Trail

  • Keeps a tab on “who did what on which document on which day”.
  • Easier to determine the document workflow and its lifecycle
  • It is a more ‘closed system ’ as unauthorized people cannot touch the data
